Bruce Springsteen has denied reports he has separated from his wife.

The legendary singer - known as 'The Boss'- has slammed "ugly rumours" that he has separated from his wife of 15 years, Patti Scialfa, after developing a "special friendship" with a 9/11 widow.

He said in a statement on his website: "Due to the unfounded buy wow weapons and ugly rumours that have appeared over the last few days, I felt they should not pass without comment. Patti and I have been together for 18 years - the best 18 years of my life.

"We havebuilt a beautiful family that we love and want to protect. Our commitment to one another remains as strong as the day we were married."

Earlier this month, it was reported that Bruce's relationship with Patti had become so strained he had moved out of their marital home.

Rumours of the couple's marriage crisis surfaced after the rocker - who has three children with Patti - was spotted in the company of a flame-haired woman, said to be a 9/11 widow.

According to reports, the rocker's 15-year marriage wow gold to Patti Scialfa collapsed after he developed a close friendship with a widow he met while organizing a 9/11 charity event.

Friends of the singer - known in the music industry as 'The Boss' - claim the couple's relationship has become so bad, Bruce has moved into the guest house on his nearby farm.
